TWIN CITIES BOOK FESTIVAL announces
featured authors for 2017
MINNEAPOLIS/ ST PAUL— Rain Taxi is proud to announce the featured authors for the 2017 Twin Cities Book Festival, taking place on the evening of Friday, October 13 and all day Saturday, October 14 in the Progress Center and Fine Arts building at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
“This year promises to be one for the books, so they say, with an amazing diversity of authors on display to teach, tickle, and titillate literary Minnesotans,” says Festival Director Eric Lorberer, who also serves as Executive Director of Rain Taxi, the nonprofit literary organization that organizes the Festival.
Prestigious award-winners and relative unknowns (but not for long) grace the stages this year, from New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast to spoken-word poet Yrsa Daley-Ward. Lemony Snicket alter-ego Daniel Handler, Boing Boing’s own Cory Doctorow, and 2017 Nebula Award-winner Charlie Jane Anders will present their novels. Poet and memoirist Kenny Fries, poet and Minnesota ex-pat Alex Lemon, and visual arts enthusiast Donna Seaman round out this eclectic group. United States Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera will converse with the poet he chose for the 2017 Witter Bynner Fellowship, Minnesota’s own Ray Gonzalez! There will also be a 40th anniversary celebration of Duluth’s Holy Cow! Press, a panel discussion with travel writers, and a special Friday night presentation; authors participating in these presentations will be announced at a later date.
Please join us to celebrate the authors you know and to discover the authors everyone will be talking about this year.

Charlie Jane Anders, All The Birds in the Sky
Roz Chast, Going Into Town: A Love Letter to New York
