We need YOU for the TWIN CITIES BOOK FESTIVAL on Saturday, October 12, 2013
Rain Taxi can’t do it alone. We need terrific volunteers to make the Twin Cities Book Festival a success! Help at the author readings, Children’s Pavilion, and the used book fair, plus meet authors and explore the Twin Cities’ fabulous literary community!

Volunteer Roles and Shift Times
Friday Noon–3pm, 3pm–6pm
Venue Setup |
Put out chairs, tables, signs,a nd books! (early shift only) |
Exhibitor Setup |
Greet exhibitors, help them find their tables, transport boxes |
Saturday 8 am–11 am, 11 am–2 pm, 2 pm–5 pm

Greet exhibitors, help them find their tables, transport boxes (early shift only) |
Used Book Fair |
Accept payment for books and refresh stock. |
Reading Rooms |
Answer questions before and after author readings, monitor the doors. |
Greeters/Info Desk |
Welcome festival attendees, direct them to reading rooms, restrooms, and exhibits, hand out programs, sell raffle tickets. |
Children’s Pavilion |
Greet performers, staff tables, help maintain a family-friendly environment. |
Sunday 1 pm–4 pm
Break Down |
Pack up materials, box leftover books, return empty carts. |
Details
Shifts are approximately 3 hours.
Volunteers should report 15 minutes before their assigned shift for a brief orientation and training.
Most roles involve some interaction with the public and some light physical activity (standing, walking, handling books).
We will try to accommodate requests for particular shifts and roles, but please list a first and second choice.
